10.Kesari

Kesari (transl. Saffron) is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action-war film written and directed by Anurag Singh. Karan johar jointly produced it, Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Sunir Khetarpal under the banners of Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, Azure Entertainment and Zee Studios. The film stars Akshay Kumar with Parineeti Chopra, Mir Sarwar, Vansh Bhardwaj, Jaspreet Singh, Vivek Saini and Vikram Kochhar in supporting roles. It follows the events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikhs of the British Indian Army and 6,000–10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.

The film was released in India during the Holi festival, on 21 March 2019. It received positive reviews from critics; it had a good start at the box office, while the opening day morning collection was affected by Holi-related celebrations. The film grossed over ₹100 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. It grossed over ₹207.09 crore (US$30 million) worldwide and found a place in the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2019.

9.Super 30

Super 30 is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language biographical film directed by Vikas Bahl, based on the life of mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational program Super 30. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Mrunal Thakur. The soundtrack is by Ajay-Atul and movie is co-produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.Super 30 was Phantom Film’s last production. The film was shot in Ramnagar Fort and in Sambhar Lake Town which was shown as Kota, Rajasthan. The film was theatrically released in India on 12 July 2019 and received mixed reviews. It entered the 100 crore club on 21 July 2019 and became the seventh-highest-grossing Hindi film of 2019.

Super 30 collected ₹11.83 crore from India, and ₹6.18 crore from overseas on the opening day. The next day (Saturday) showing an upward trend the film collected ₹18.19 crore from India, and ₹5.46 crore from overseas. The film grossed ₹75.08 crore in the opening weekend, and ₹112.65 crore in the opening week worldwide. As of 14 August 2019, with gross of ₹172.84 crore from India and ₹36.06 crore from overseas, the film has grossed ₹208.90 crore (US$30 million) worldwide.

8.Chhichhore

Chhichhore is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Naveen Polishetty, Prateik Babbar, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sadanand Verma, and follows the life of seven friends from 1992 to present day. Filming began on 30 September 2018. The film was theatrically released in India on 6 September 2019.

Chhichhore has the opening day collection of ₹7.32 crore and a second-day collection of ₹12.25 crore. The third-day collection was ₹16.41 crore, taking its total opening weekend collection to ₹35.98 crore. As of 12 October 2019, with a gross of ₹180.19 crore in India and ₹30.42 crore overseas, the film has grossed ₹210.61 crore (US$30 million) worldwide and has become the eighth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.

7.Total Dhamaal

Total Dhamaal is an Indian 2019 Hindi-language action-adventure comedy film directed, co-produced and written by Indra Kumar. The third installment of the Dhamaal franchise, it is a reboot of the 2007 film Dhamaal and based loosely on the 1963 Hollywood film It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Total Dhamaal features a large ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey, and Esha Gupta. It also stars Sanjay Mishra, Pitobash Tripathy, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever, and Manoj Pahwa in brief roles, with Sonakshi Sinha appearing in an item number “Munda”. The film has been produced on a budget of ₹90 crore (US$13 million).

The film was theatrically released on 22 February 2019. It received mixed reviews from critics. The film grossed over ₹200 crore (US$29 million) within 12 days of its release. With a worldwide gross of ₹228.27 crore (US$33 million), it became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2019 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. The film netted ₹154 crore (US$22 million) domestically and was termed a Super Hit by Box Office India.

6.Gully Boy

Gully Boy is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language musical drama film directed by Zoya Akhtar, and written by Akhtar and Reema Kagti. The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar under the banners of Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment productions, with Nas as an executive producer. It stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and features Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Raaz in supporting roles. Inspired by the lives of Indian street rapper Devine and Naezy, the film is a coming-of-age story about an aspiring street rapper from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai.

Principal photography for Gully Boy commenced in January 2018 and wrapped up in April 2018. It was premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival on 9 February 2019 and released on 15 February 2019 to positive reviews from critics. With a global gross of over ₹245 crore ($37 million), it is the sixth highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019 and the year’s second highest-grossing Bollywood film overseas. It was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards.

5.Mission Mangal

Mission Mangal is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Jagan Shakti and jointly produced by Cape of Good Films, Hope Productions, Fox Star Studios, Aruna Bhatia, and Anil Naidu. The film stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya, Vikram Gokhale, and Sonakshi Sinha. It is loosely based on the life of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, India’s first interplanetary expedition.

Mission Mangal was announced in November 2018. Shakti, who worked as associate director on Pad Man (2018), pitched the script to Kumar. Principal photography for the film began in November 2018. The film’s soundtrack was composed by Amit Trivedi and Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Bagchi and released under the banner Zee Music Company. Mission Mangal was theatrically released in India on 15 August 2019, India’s Independence Day. It received positive reviews from critics and has earned ₹289.97 crore (US$42 million) worldwide.

4.Bharat 

Bharat is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language drama film written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It is jointly produced by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nikhil Namit and Salman Khan under the banners Reel Life Productions, Salman Khan Films and T-Series. The film stars Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Sunil Grover, Disha Patani and Jackie Shroff. It traces India’s post-independence history from the perspective of a common man and follows his life from the age of 8 to 70.

Bharat was theatrically released in India on 5 June 2019, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. It received mixed reviews from critics, with praise directed to Kaif’s performance, while the pace, Zafar’s adaptation and screenplay received criticism. The film earned ₹42.30 crore on its first day, becoming Khan’s biggest opening day release. It emerged as a commercial success with a worldwide gross of ₹325.58 crore (US$47 million).

3.Uri: The Surgical Strike

Uri: The Surgical Strike is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language military action film. It is the directorial debut of Aditya Dhar who also wrote the film. It features Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in lead roles. The film is a dramatized account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack. It follows Major Vihaan Singh Shergill of the Indian Army, who plays a leading role in the events.

Uri was theatrically released on 11 January 2019 and grossed over ₹342 crore (US$53 million) worldwide. Based on domestic net collection, the film is at the eleventh position in the list of Hindi films with highest domestic net collection. It won four National Film Awards, including Best Direction (Dhar) and Best Actor (Kaushal).

2.Kabir Singh

Kabir Singh is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written and directed by Sandeep Vanga. It is a remake of his own Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017). Jointly produced by Cine1 Studios and T-Series, the film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. It focuses on the title character, an alcoholic surgeon with an explosive temper who goes on a self-destructive path after his girlfriend is forced to marry someone else.

Kabir Singh‘s opening day domestic collection was ₹20.21 crore. This is the highest opening day collection for a Shahid Kapoor film. On the second day, the film collected ₹22.71 crore. On the third day, the film collected ₹27.91 crore. As of 10 October 2019, with a gross of ₹331.24 crore in India and ₹47.78 crore overseas, the film has a worldwide gross collection of ₹379.02 crore. Kabir Singh is the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.

War is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand. It is produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films and stars Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. The film follows an Indian soldier assigned to eliminate his former mentor who has gone rogue. War was theatrically released in India in 4DX on 2 October 2019, the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, with praise for the performances of Roshan and Shroff, but criticism for its predictable storyline. War set the record for the highest opening day collection for a Bollywood film in India. With a worldwide gross of over ₹400 crore, it emerged as the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.

As of 17 October 2019, with gross of ₹342.74 crore from India and ₹85.70 crore from overseas, the film has grossed ₹428.44 crore worldwide, and has become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2019.
